Sonam understands how difficult it must be for the flight attendant’s family to lose a daughter and a sister and is making sure she goes about her character in the most sensitive way possible. The movie is based on the life of Neerja Bhanot who was shot dead by terrorists who hijacked the Mumbai New York flight at Karachi on 5 September 1986. Neeraja, who was the flight attendant on Pan Am 73 that was hijacked by Libyan terrorists in Karachi, saved 359 passengers at the coast of her life on September 5, 1986. This biopic movie is scheduled for release on February 19, 2016. It tells the story of her extraordinary courage that the new generation might not be familiar with.
