Sword in the stone is the new project of Disney, read here about Sword in the Stone Live- Action Remake. Disney is developing a “Sword in the Stone” movie with “Game of Thrones” writer Bryan Cogman penning the script, Variety has confirmed. Their strategy of re-imagining animated classics into live-action movies has now been continued with this.
As per the sources, “Brigham Taylor” will produce the film. The Toon was based originally on T.H. White’s novel of the same name. Ultimately becoming part of the author’s multi-book King Arthur fantasy, “The Once and Future King.”
The 1963 animated pic followed a 12-year-old orphan named Arthur who became king after removing a sword from an anvil in London. Game of Thrones, though audiences can expect this project to be on the lighter side.
The scribe tweeted a photo of himself pulling the “Sword in the Stone” at Disneyland with the caption “research.”
Disney has already struck box office gold with “Alice in Wonderland,” whose sequel “Alice Through the Looking Glass” is slated for 2016, “Maleficent” and “Cinderella.” Live-action versions of “Beauty and the Beast,” starring Emma Watson.
Jon Favreau-directed “The Jungle Book” (whose all-star voice cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong’o and Bill Murray); “Mulan”; Tim Burton-helmed “Dumbo”; “Winnie the Pooh”; “Tinker Bell,” with Reese Witherspoon; “Fantasia”; and an “Aladdin” prequel are all in the works.
Cogman is repped by UTA, Management 360 and Hansen Jacobson. He’s also developing a “Magic: The Gathering” for Fox and “The False Prince” for Paramount. After the Games of Throne Action, now its time for the Sword in the Stone. Movie will be amazing so wait for the movie Release.
